About

olanda Copes-Stepney, creator and host of Speak On podcast

Hi, I’m Yolanda Copes-Stepney, the creator and host of Speak On.

I’m a presenter, development producer, media consultant and founder.

I started Speak On to create conversations that encourage curiosity, empathy and connection in an ever-divided world and by cultivating a culture of understanding and mutual respect I hope that it will help to stop us all from being bellends to each other.

This is where my background in journalism and storytelling meets my activism and advocacy. Through this platform I get to yap (my fave thing to do), find stories, explore perspectives, dig deep, ask questions, and I also get to amplify under-represented, marginalised, and purposely ignored voices.

I’m committed to creating honest, inclusive and thought-provoking discussions that remind us we have more in common than we think. I do this by inviting key opinion leaders, specialists and experts to share their ideas and experiences to help people see things differently and find common ground.

Conversation is powerful because it allows people to listen, reflect and connect in real time, opening space for shared stories to shift assumptions and remind us of each other’s humanity while connecting with our own.

When I’m hosting, interviewing and creating content for Speak On, I’m also there to listen, learn and connect alongside the audience. I like to keep things open, engaging and accessible, balancing curiosity, humour and honesty to make sure everyone feels part of the dialogue.
